Spring Tulip Wreath

We had several unseasonably warm days this February (which coincidentally were promptly followed by a massive snow storm).  When Michael’s had a 40 percent off sale on bunches of tulips that particular weekend, I knew that I had to create a spring wreath to celebrate!

I started with a cheap grapevine wreath and wrapped a pipe stem cleaner around the top of it to serve as a hanger.

I then snipped all of the purple, white, and yellow tulips (along with their leaves) off of their stems, and began glue-gunning them to the wreath.

And continued this process around the wreath in the same direction, trying to make it appear as full as possible.
That’s it!  One day soon, I need to learn how to make bows.  This will work for now.
The first thing that my husband said when he saw it was, “It’s a LSU wreath.”  We’re not the biggest fans of the LSU Tigers.  I smacked him.

There you have it!  A simple tulip wreath, which is ready for spring.

  1. It's beautiful! Changing out the wreath on my front door is on my to-do list for today, and I was just going to plop the old forsythia thing I've had for years on there, but maybe a quick trip to Hobby Lobby is in order 🙂

  2. Kirsten,

We got dumped on by snow last night and this is so Springy and pretty! Love it!! Thanks so much for sharing on Showoff Saturday!

  3. Thank you, thank you! Were you able to get yourself a new wreath? I love forsythia, but I'm totally with you — it's always so refreshing to have something new!

  4. Thank you very much for your sweet comment. I love tulips, too — they are always so cheery. Where did you go to college? (Hope I didn't offend you with the LSU remark!) I'm your newest follower!

  5. Hi Sarah! Tulips are one of my favorites, too, and when I saw them on sale, I knew I had to create something with them. And OF COURSE I'll check out your blog! Funnily enough, I was already a follower. 🙂 Thank you for stopping by!
